Abs with Mo
Privacy Policy
- No account. We never ask for your email, phone or real identity in the app.
- Your workouts, streak and your buddy's stuff stay on your iPhone.
- We collect anonymous usage events to improve the app. You can turn them off.
- No ads, no ad tracking, and we never sell data.
- Payments go through Apple. We never see your card.
Who we are
This policy covers the Abs with Mo iPhone app and the website abswithmo.com ("Abs with Mo", "we"). Questions: hello@abswithmo.com.
What stays on your iPhone
Everything you do in the app is stored only on your device, in the app's own storage:
- The first name you type in onboarding and your answers (goal, level, minutes a day, streak goal, reminder time).
- Your workout history, plan progress and streak.
- Your buddy's gifts, gear and corner.
We don't have a server copy of any of this. Deleting the app deletes it.
Anonymous usage analytics
To see which parts of the app work and which don't, the app sends anonymous events to PostHog, our analytics provider (servers in the United States). For example: a screen was opened, an onboarding question was answered, a workout was finished, a gift box was opened, the subscription screen was shown or closed, a subscription was started.
- Events can include your onboarding answers (goal, level, minutes a day, streak goal), which buddy you picked, a finished workout's plan day, reps and length, and which Plus plan you chose. They never include the name you typed or any payment details.
- Each install gets a random identifier so events from the same app can be counted together. It isn't linked to your Apple ID, email, advertising identifier or any account.
- We ask PostHog not to look up a location from your IP address, and we don't create user profiles.
- You can turn analytics off anytime in the app: Me → Share anonymous usage.
Subscriptions and payments
Abs with Mo Plus is sold through Apple's App Store. Apple handles the payment and your payment details; we never see or store them. The app only receives from Apple whether your subscription is active, so it can unlock the full plan. You can manage or cancel your subscription in your iPhone's Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions. Apple's handling of your data is covered by Apple's Privacy Policy.
Notifications
If you allow notifications, the app schedules your daily workout reminder and, during a free trial, a reminder before the trial ends. These are created on your iPhone; no push service or server is involved.
Photos
When you choose to save a streak or workout card, the app asks for permission to add it to your Photos. It can only add images; it can't read your library.
Camera and microphone
The app doesn't use the camera or the microphone. Your buddy counts on a timer and the music's beat.
The website
abswithmo.com uses PostHog to count visits and button taps, with no cookies (in-memory only) and no location lookup. If you join the launch waitlist, we store your email address, the time and the page you came from, only to tell you when the app launches. To be removed, write to hello@abswithmo.com. The site is hosted on Cloudflare.
Sharing
We don't sell or rent data, and we don't share it with advertisers or data brokers. The only outside services that receive data are PostHog (analytics, as described above), Cloudflare (website hosting and the waitlist) and Apple (purchases).
Retention
Anonymous analytics events are kept for up to 24 months, then deleted. Waitlist emails are deleted once launch emails are sent, or sooner if you ask.
Your rights
Because the app works without an account and analytics are anonymous, we usually can't link data to you. You can stop analytics in the app at any time, and you can ask us to delete your waitlist email or any data you believe we hold about you by writing to hello@abswithmo.com. Depending on where you live (for example the EU, UK or California), you may have additional rights to access, correct or delete personal data; we'll honor them.
Children
Abs with Mo isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from them.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update this page and the date at the top. Significant changes will be noted in the app's release notes.
